Mariners Point is a small prestigious community in the southeast region of San Clemente, that offers stunning views of the ocean, city lights, Catalina San Clemente Island, and sunsets.
Mariners Point has some of the more expensive real estate of San Clemente, but residents do not pay Home Owners Association fees or Mello Roos assessments. Homes here are bigger than average because of their large lots. There are 48 homes that range on the average from 2,374 to 5,500 square feet, with three to five bedrooms, two to five baths, and three-car garages. Amenities include a community swimming pool and heated spa. Streets that run through this subdivision include Via Del Fin Avenida Acapulco, Via Promontorio, Via Zapata, and Avenida San Pablo.
The Capistrano Unified School District is an award winning organization with highly ranked facilities such as Concordia Elementary School, Shorecliffs Middle School, and San Clemente High School. Advanced placement courses and an International Baccalaureate (IB) program are offered at the high school. Students can take classes in a more scheduled atmosphere with the Capistrano Connections Academy, a virtual public K-12 school. There are also several private schools like Our Lady of Fatima Parish School, Our Savior’s Lutheran School, and Talega Preparatory Academy.
Residents are close to Vista Bahia Park, and many trails for hiking, biking, and walking. The San Clemente Municipal Golf Club is to the south and there are many stores and restaurants nearby. The Outlets at San Clemente offer 70 merchants, including Van Heusen, Starbucks, Perfumania, Nike Factory Store, and Levi’s Outlet Store.
The City of San Clemente is known for its Spanish Colonial architecture and its slogan is “Spanish Village by the Sea.” It is also one of the best surfing cities because of the year-long swells. Many surfing tournaments are held here, and this is the home to Surfing Magazine and The Surfer’s Journal.
